The Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) is offering a new and exciting training experience for individuals who are looking for something that is directly relevant to their professional practice.
The IBMS Interactive Masterclasses are tailored to offer extra depth, content and value - delivering a full and interactive learning experience covering key topics for biomedical scientists.
Taking place during the Biomedical Science Congress (but not part of the programme), there are two independent masterclass options:
The IBMS Masterclasses offer an alternative to the Congress lecture programme by bringing together participants with similar objectives looking for an active and in-depth environment that allows them to gain a different learning experience.
Participants will experience facilitated interaction with the session leader and also with each other in a combination of presentation and practical exercises including structured group discussions.

As Pathology faces huge change the focus on competency and 'meeting expectations' has never been greater. This interactive Masterclass will provide opportunities to discuss what competency means for all grades of laboratory workers and how to recognize it. The session is designed to be a forum for sharing thoughts and ideas, discuss setting standards by which to measure and assess competence and reach the ultimate goal of effective performance at work.

Through interactive exercises and group work. Presenters are chosen for their ability to share their insight and enthusiasm for the subject. Attendees will get the opportunity to explore the subject for themselves either individually or in small groups, with help being on hand if needed.
