The exhibition is a key feature at the Biomedical Science Congress. It’s the largest of its kind in the UK – offering every attendee an opportunity to see the latest products, services, equipment and technology. This is invaluable in its own right.
The IBMS is now offering every delegate an opportunity to earn reflective practice CPD points from visiting the exhibition. Using the bar code on your badge, delegates will be able to log the details of every stand visited.
Here's how it works:
Exhibitors will be asked to provide details of their product features which will be added to a data base. When delegates visit a stand they will be able to ask that their badge is scanned by that exhibitor. This logs that the stand was visited and that there were discussions about the product.
After the event, every delegate will receive a report and a link to their own personal online directory of companies visited at the Biomedical Science Congress. This contains details of each company. This data can then be used as a prompt to assist your recollections and submit a reflective practice report to the IBMS to gain CPD points based on what you learned to inform your own practice and potential the service your department offers to patients.
Using this new feature at the Biomedical Science Congress not only provides every delegate with a report of who they visited and what they saw, it also captures information relevant to their learning experience and enables them to more easily recall their CPD activities.
A delegate can generally gain 1 CPD credit per 30 minute lecture. Where lectures are 45 mins or 20 mins long, the credits are not apportioned to individual lectures but to the whole duration of the session.
Credits are also available for the following:
Research Presentation (Short Paper or Poster):
Use the code 'GC-RSPRS 11' claiming 20 credits.
Lecturing:
Use the code 'GC-LNI 11' claiming 10 credits
